The Covid lockdown made it impossible to celebrate 25 April outdoors, so we tried to recreate a video mapping with what we had at home: a small-scale square, intimate and human-sized, an environment that looked open yet felt safe and familiar, where colour and light could run free.
Colours and light dictated by the imagination of our friends’ children, who are probably the ones whose freedom is most at risk right now, Covid or no Covid. That is why we invited them to contribute their art to express their idea of Freedom.
Special thanks to all the children who took part, to Stefania Dore for the drawing of “Free Italy”, and to Andrea Montis and Michael Gettel for their music.
The event was streamed live on Facebook at 9:30 pm on 25 April.
