C-Silence is a cube of about 80 cm per side equipped with a monitor and audio system. Sitting in front of the cube, users see themselves immersed in a given environment: city traffic, a beach, a market, an alley, and so on.
They hear the typical sounds of that environment which, together with those picked up by the microphone, distort and modify both the image of the environment and that of the subject, representing the alteration of the perception of reality and of oneself caused by the constant sound bombardment we are subjected to.
Users can reduce or increase this distortion by covering their ears, opening or covering their mouth and so on, altering, through the interaction system, the sounds emitted and perceived by the system.
