Interactive 3D models and SandBox

In collaboration with &Makers we created three interactive installations for the Territory Museum of Baunei (Nuoro).

Models of Sardinia and the Baunei territory: different georeferenced maps — geographic, statistical, environmental and more — are projected on the silent models. Users browse the maps through a virtual menu activated only by hand movement, with no contact at all.

SandBox: a tank of sand is animated by projections that react in real time. Changing the shape of the sand triggers different functions, such as colouring the elevation levels, discovering “buried” videos and images, simulating a stream of water following the slopes, and playing with blending different images together, such as faces, paintings and more.

The structures are all built from original designs and integrate all the technology needed to run.
