Cast For Mars is an immersive experience created by Alter Agent that physically rebuilds a Martian colony over 1,500 m². Participants are selected as “colonists” for a Mars survival training — aptitude tests, workshops, a control room, a simulated sandstorm — while a second group follows the journey as immersive theatre. The world premiere took place at TreviglioFIERA in spring 2026; a spin-off, Red Planet 3009, was selected at Cannes Immersive.
Together with Graziano De Vecchis, AM Artist programmed three interactive rooms in TouchDesigner with custom hardware on ESP32 and Arduino, integrating lasers, mapped projections, lighting and motion and biometric sensors. We also implemented the global synchronisation system between the rooms and the recording/reporting of participants’ scores.
