Solar is an immersive site-specific installation presented at the Gazometro in Rome for the Videocittà 2025 festival. 200 moving-head lights and a robotic arm turn the structure into an “artificial sun”, evoking a continuous cycle of digital dawns and sunsets: beams of light sculpt the darkness and animate the night space with living light and moving geometries.
In collaboration with Graziano De Vecchis, we developed a TouchDesigner system that controls the parameters of the 200 lights in real time via DMX, splitting them into dynamic groups and assigning each of them moving targets in space — even geometric, transforming ones — and actions coordinated with the music.
The installation was replicated at The Bentway, Toronto, in October 2025 with a configuration of 60 lights arranged on a wall.
