Solar is an immersive, site-specific installation presented at the Gazometro in Rome for the Videocittà 2025 festival. 200 moving head lights and a robotic arm transform the structure into an “artificial sun”, evoking a continuous cycle of digital sunrises and sunsets. Beams of light sculpt the darkness and animate the night space with vibrant light and shifting geometries.
In collaboration with Graziano De Vecchis, we developed a system in TouchDesigner that controls all parameters of the 200 lights in real time via DMX, dividing them into dynamic groups and assigning each one moving targets in space—both geometric and transforming—synchronized with the music.
